Attention to details

Is your child struggling with learning after the stress of a pandemic? Are their social, emotional, and behavioral issues at an all-time high? We as parents and teachers are exhausted and frustrated! We’ve turned trauma into treasure.

Earnie Jr. was created for parents and children as a necessity in our own homes. We compiled all of our strategies and resources into a pocket-friendly parent assistant that motivates your kids to be the best they can be!

Earnie Jr. helps parents help their children, especially those with learning disabilities by explaining what details are important in their day by drawing their attention to them and highlighting their importance. The details represent a variety of skills — from time management and organization to perseverance and flexibility — that are imperative to overcome obstacles and make good choices. Essentially, they are some of the most important life skills which are not taught in school.

Every day is an opportunity for parents to foster these skills in their students. Start by modeling their morning routine. Going over your expectations for activities like brushing their teeth, washing their face, doing their hair, using deodorant, getting dressed, cleaning their room, preparing breakfast, packing their lunch and/or bookbag, helps them to develop many skills. In turn, they’re learning sequencing, problem solving, regulation and prioritizing. These skills can be easily transferred to everyday activities as kids are practicing skills in their home environment.

After school is another time to help children flex those muscles. Making a snack, changing their clothes, unpacking their backpack, doing their homework and studying can be extremely overwhelming for them after a long day. This is the perfect time to model how to create a conducive work area, gather materials, set long-term and short-term goals that they want to achieve, set a plan to complete the goals, and complete tasks.

The evening and weekends create a whole bunch of more obstacles. Some people do not agree with chores but I think everyone can agree with CHORES (Children helping out: responsibilities, expectations, and supports).Making tasks meaningful for the child is possibly the best strategy to ensure concrete comprehension, learning and future successes.

Earnie Jr. knows that every family is different. The app can be easily customized to suit all parenting styles.  Kids love screen time, especially on their mobile phones and tablets. Earnie Jr. makes use of that to give them a gamified user experience. Complete scheduled tasks, get rewards!

Say goodbye to messy rooms and late homework assignments!
